Giaan Rooney’s Struggle With ‘Mum Guilt’ Is So Relatable

Olympic swimmer Giaan Rooney has gained praise overnight after her brutally honest “mum guilt” post struck a chord with her loyal followers.

Rooney, who is mother to three-year-old Zander and five-month-old Alexa, opened up about how difficult she is finding motherhood.

Taking to Instagram the 35-year-old Olympian wrote, “I am struggling to get my groove back post the arrival of bub #2 in more ways that one.

•Long post alert• ? I am struggling to get my groove back post the arrival of bub #2 in more ways than one… I find the days at home with #lexilevett monotonous yet the days I work I miss her like crazy… I find the work days stressful on a number of levels (baby brain is a THING I tell you!) right down to what to wear – scrambled at the shops for an hour on Monday, bought 3 different outfits, hated/couldn’t pull off those 3 outfits so ended up wearing old pants, a @countryroad top & jazzing it up with my new @klaylife earrings – but then love my job when I’m at work… ??‍♀️ Head all over the shop, rocking the ‘Mum guilt’ like no body’s business & exhausted with the constant juggling act of life with a couple of kids… but love them so much I feel my heart could explode! Makes me realise how much pressure we put on ourselves to try & get it all ‘right’, whatever that is?!? Grateful for a fabulous Husband, hands-on parents/grandparents, healthy children, great work colleagues who make me look good & the make-up magicians I work with who work miracles – @jennifercarlsonhairandmakeup yesterday & @kristytynemakeup today… It takes a village alright!!! #thejuggleisreal #worklife #mumlife #grateful #keepinitreal

Giaan finished, “Makes me realise how much pressure we put on ourselves to try & get it all ‘right’, whatever that is?!?!”

The post was quickly flooded with comments of support and many mothers who agreed they feel the same on a daily basis.

“So true, & along the way you have raised an intelligent, cheeky, curious little lady who will one day realise what a rockstar her Mum actually is!!!” one commenter wrote. 

“I’d like to thank you for that and for acknowledging that it isn’t easy and for thanking those in your life that are your leaning post. Don’t be too hard on yourself you are doing a fabulous job,” another follower added. 

Well this is an attractive hair situation isn't it?!? Little miss rolls her head from side to side in her cot a million times a day (rather than sleeping…) which has resulted in a lovely bald patch all the way around her head! ? #attractive #haironfleek #baldpatchbaby #14weeksold #lexilevett
