Recall: net meat recalls due to Salmonella bacteria

Callback on net: Salmonella in the popular meat product

The SFW sign Auer meat and sausages GmbH from the Saxon Belgern-Schildau has started a recall for the article smoked loin of the brand “shield Auer”. In the meat product that was sold at discount stores, the net, could Salmonella be included. These bacteria can cause diarrhoeal diseases.

Salmonella in “smoked loin”

The SFW sign Auer meat and sausages GmbH, based in Belgern-Schildau (Saxony) calls back to the article smoked loin of the brand “shield Auer” (approx. 150g) the expiration date 09.05.2019 and with the batch number, 191601. “It cannot be ruled out that Salmonella can reside in individual packages of the affected article, “smoked loin”,” writes the company in a statement. And: “A consumption could lead to adverse health effects.”

Product was withdrawn from sale

The data indicate that the affected meat product was offered at a Discounter net in Parts of Saxony and Brandenburg.

The product has now been withdrawn from sale.

According to the report, customers who have purchased the corresponding product may give this for a refund of the purchase price, even without presentation of the receipts in your shopping sites.

Triggers of gastro-intestinal diseases

Salmonella are bacteria that can be the trigger of some serious stomach/intestinal disease (salmonellosis).

Such diseases manifest themselves within a few days after infection with diarrhea, abdominal pain and occasionally vomiting and slight fever.

“The discomfort will generally disappear after several days,” writes the company.

But: “in Particular, infants, young children, the elderly, and people with a weakened immune system may develop more severe courses of the disease.”

If the symptoms are severe consult a doctor

The company indicates that people who have eaten this food and severe or persistent symptoms develop, consult medical help and a possible Salmonella infection should point out.

To go without symptoms as a preventive measure in medical treatment, however, is not useful.
