This is proof that Duchess Kate may be the most athletic royal ever

Kate Middleton may be known for consistently sporting a fresh blowout and for her prim and proper outfits — but the duchess isn’t afraid to break a sweat. And she can do it in heels.

The duchess, who’s been an accomplished athlete since her primary school days, hasn’t lost her sporty side since entering the world of royals. Whether it’s commandeering a dragon boat race on Prince Edward Island to bundling up for a skiing holiday in Switzerland, Kate’s love of sports is apparent.

“The Duchess of Cambridge is a keen sportswoman and believes that sport has the power to engage, educate and inspire and change lives for the better,” writes Buckingham Palace in one of the mom-of-three’s biographies. “The Duchess of Cambridge’s passion for sport stems from Her Royal Highness’s own experience and enjoyment of playing sport from a young age, in particular tennis, hockey and sailing.”

Amongst her many wellness endeavors, Kate is a patron of the 1851 Trust, to bring sailing and maritime to the younger generation, and SportsAid, to help support athletic competitions.

And although she isn’t *technically* allowed to participate in marathons, we have yet to hear of a rule that forbids her from taking up archery (check), from playing volleyball in wedges (check) and from kicking Prince William’s butt in yacht racing (and check).
