Bradley Cooper Said Having a Family Was 'a Miracle' Before Irina Shayk Split

Counting his blessings. Bradley Cooper gushed over his family before his split from Irina Shayk.

“Having a child, and having a family of my own — which is a miracle and something I’ve always dreamt of — has opened me up even more, I guess, to the day, and to be present,” the actor, 44, said in an interview with NPR in September 2018. “Well, I’ve been opened up to a world of children’s music, that’s for sure.”

A source confirmed to Us Weekly on Thursday, June 6, that the Guardians of the Galaxy star and the model, 33, who share 2-year-old daughter Lea de Seine, broke up.

“They split but she is still staying at his house for now,” the insider said. “It’s complicated because of the baby.”

One day earlier, a source told Us that the couple weren’t “getting along for awhile.”

After news broke of their relationship’s end, Shayk was spotted carrying luggage out of their Los Angeles home and heading to the Los Angeles International Airport in a tan jumpsuit and black shoes.

Cooper and the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model started dating in April 2015 and made their red carpet debut a year later at the L’Oréal Red Obsession party during Paris Fashion Week. They secretly welcomed their infant in 2016, keeping her birth under wraps for a few weeks.

The Grammy winner recently opened up about the ways fatherhood has changed him, telling Ellen DeGeneres in April, “I think, like, every way. It allowed me to embrace my childlike self without any sort of fear of judgment. I can just play with toys all day long … or watch cartoons endlessly and not think I’m wasting my life. I love cartoons.”

Cooper added: “I don’t subscribe to [the terrible twos]. I don’t even know what that means.”

The Pennsylvania native went on to say that he had mixed feelings about his baby girl growing up. “You think [about] what she’s got to look forward to and also the burden of life,” he told the talk show host, 61. “It’s a lot. The innocence is beautiful to see.”
