Kylie Jenner Just Dyed Her Hair Pastel Pink

Talk about burying the lede. Kylie Jenner took to Instagram late Thursday night to post a photo of herself wearing her new Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Triple White sneakers, and while the shoes look great and all, it's impossible for the eye to not be drawn to the top of Jenner's head. There, she debuts a new pastel pink hair color, given to her by her family's go-to hair pro, Chris Appleton.

Jenner has experimented with fun hair colors before, including a very neon pink, though for the most part, they were wigs. This time, however, it seems that Jenner wanted to take advantage of the color-friendly canvas having blonde hair has given her.

"Think pink ? LOVE this pink we did on @kyliejenner," Appleton wrote when he reposted the photo of Jenner to his own Instagram page. "To get the look I was super gentle on the hair and used @limecrimemakeup unicorn color in Kawail and used dilute mixer to make a super soft frosted pink." Lime Crime actually calls the Kawaii shade of Unicorn Hair Tints, which are semipermanent vegan formulas, a "baby violet" color, but regardless of whether you see it as more pink or more purple, it's just plain pretty.

In an email, Appleton gave more details on the process. First, he separated Jenner's hair into four even sections — front to back and side to side — and secured it with clips. Working on inch-wide strands, he applied the color evenly from root to tip with an applicator brush and massaged each strand to ensure uniform color distribution After leaving it on for 45 minutes, he rinsed her hair in cool to lukewarm water — no shampoo — and conditioned it with Color Wow Color Security Conditioner.

Appleton has previously given Jenner's half-sister, Kim Kardashian West, pink hair. In February, when she was "over" having blonde hair, Appleton helped her have a little fun with color before going back to brunette. He told Allure that added a little bit of Manic Panic into some conditioner and left it on her hair for 20 minutes to get the bubblegum-pink shade she debuted on Instagram. It eventually faded to a more pastel shade like Jenner's new look.

If you're considering a similar color, Appleton advised on Kardashian West's app to use Olaplex help keep hair strong, wash with sulfate-free shampoo (and not very often), and using dry shampoo whenever possible.
