Meghan Markle’s Banana Bread Recipe Is Equal Parts Healthy *And* Yum

Back in October, Prince Harry and the former Duchess of Sussex stayed at Admiralty House (aka the official residence of the Governor-General of Australia,) she whipped up a batch of her signature banana bread to gift a family at their farm in Dubbo.

Admittedly, the word “health food” probs isn’t the first thing you think when you look at this picture. But it is far better for your bod than the sugar-laden loaves you’d find at your local bakery. Not only is the batter gluten-free and low in refined sugar, but it also contains ginger – a powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. Little wonder then, it was quickly gobbled up by guests who gave it “five stars.”

Ingredients

2 cups gluten-free flour

2/3 cup golden granulated sugar

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

3/4 teaspoon salt

8 tablespoons melted butter

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2/3 cup sour cream

1 cup mashed banana

1/2 cup chocolate chips

1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
