Mothers have a higher risk for heart disease and stroke
Children the risk for cardiovascular disease and stroke increased get
In a scientific study has shown that children, in women, the risk for cardiovascular disease and stroke increased significantly. The study authors recommend that to keep the weight gain during the pregnancy under control, and afterwards, to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Unhealthy life style as a risk factor
Each year, more than a quarter of a million people in Germany suffer a stroke and approximately 280,000 Federal citizen get a heart attack. Long known that factors such as high blood pressure, Obesity, lack of exercise, Smoking and high alcohol to increase consumption, the risk for heart attack and stroke. Researchers have now found that the risk for the two diseases is also in women who have children later.
Long-lasting effects on the cardiovascular System
According to a study by researchers at the Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan (China), women who have children in seizures, compared to women without children, a 14 percent higher risk for heart disease and stroke.
“The mechanisms underlying the observed associations are complex,” says study author Dr. Dongming Wang, according to a communication from the European Society of Cardiology (ESC).
“A pregnancy can lead to inflammation in the body and accumulation of fat in the abdominal area, in the blood and in the arteries,” explained the researchers.
“These changes can have lasting effects on the circulatory System, which leads later in life to an increased risk for heart and stroke.”
The results of the study were published in the “European Journal of Preventive Cardiology”, journal of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC).
During pregnancy, the heart is subjected to greater loads
It is known that the heart is under stress during pregnancy stronger, because it must ensure a supply of mother and fetus.
As communication means in the ESC, the impact of a pregnancy on the later development of heart disease, however, controversial.
The authors gathered data from all over the world, a meta-analysis.
There are ten studies were included, of which 3.089.929 women were involved, of which 150.512 to heart disease or stroke sufferers.
The risk increases with the number of births
In the overall analysis, a significant correlation between the children showed wars and the risk for cardiovascular disease.
Women who had given birth to a child, had to develop in comparison to women without children, a 14 percent higher probability of a heart disease or a stroke.
When the researchers took the risk with the number of births in the connection status of each birth with a four percent higher risk in context – regardless of factors such as Body Mass Index (BMI), Diabetes, hypertension, Smoking, and income level.
Similar relationships were observed for different types of cardiovascular diseases, each live birth was associated with a five or three per cent higher risk for coronary heart disease or stroke.
Women can reduce a lot of to do to the hazard to
“Women should know that children increase their risk for future heart disease or strokes, and that more pregnancies can increase this risk,” explained Dr. Wang.
“The good news is that women can do a lot to prevent cardiovascular disease,” says the author of the study.
“Pregnancy is a great time to be a bad life to get rid of habits,” said Dr. Wang.
“So stop Smoking, to exercise regularly, to eat a healthy diet and keep the weight gain under control,” said the scientist.
“Keep those habits after pregnancy, exercise to reduce belly fat, and pay attention to the fat content of your diet, to keep blood lipids at a healthy level.” (ad)
