Paris Hilton Revealed Her Baby's Name & It's a Sweet Nod To His Mama

Nearly a month after announcing her son’s arrival via surrogate, Paris Hilton has finally revealed the baby’s name — and it’s just as geographically-perfect as we would expect! The heiress let the public in on her mini’s moniker via the Feb. 22 episode of her podcast, This is Paris. So what did Hilton and her husband, Carter Reum, decide to name their little one?

Why, Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum, of course!

During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in Jan. 2022, Hilton told Ellen that she already had a name picked out for her future daughter: London Marilyn Hilton Reum. “Marilyn after my grandmother and London because it’s my favorite city and I think Paris and London sound cute together,” she explained.

But because there was a little boy in the cards for the couple, they clearly had to think of another name that goes so perfectly with Paris — and we can only surmise that’s why they chose Phoenix. According to the U.S. Social Security Administration’s baby name database, the name Phoenix has been on a steep upward trajectory in popularity for the last 20 years; in 2000, the name was at #878 on the charts, but at last count in 2021, it was at #248. And as celebrity baby names often influence a name’s popularity, we’re betting Phoenix will experience even more of a popularity boost.

Hilton and Reum, who were married in Nov. 2021, have been candid about their fertility journey. In a post on her Instagram stories, Hilton said, “IVF is always a journey for everyone but we’re so fortunate that we have lots of healthy embryos ready and waiting to be part of our Cutesy Crew! As everyone knows, I have an extremely busy work and travel schedule but nothing gets me more excited than becoming a mom in 2023!”

The couple announced the birth of their son in January with the sweetest Instagram post featuring Phoenix’s tiny baby fingers wrapped around his mom’s perfectly-manicured ones. “You are already loved beyond words 💙,” Hilton captioned the post. But when it came to announcing his name, Hilton and Reum have remained mum until now — likely to revel in what little privacy they can have, which is exactly what they opted to do for the first few days of their son’s existence.
