The Internet Is Screaming Over Stranger Things' Joe Keery's Mullet at the 2018 Emmys

If you thought Joe Keery's teased, blown-out, flowing mullet was simply a style created for his Stranger Things character Steve Harrington, you were severely mistaken. Keery's luscious locks have become arguably as famous as Keery himself — so it should come as no surprise that his epic flow was arguably the biggest hit of the 2018 Emmys red carpet. At least, according to Twitter it was.

Keery's hair inspired new levels of awe and wonder Monday night that it overshadowed his crisp navy tuxedo ensemble and distracted from his too-short pants and naked ankles. But what his pants lacked in length, his hair made up for in height — with a blowout even more voluminous than anything we've seen on the '80s-inspired show. Prepare for hair envy:

Twitter took notice of Keery's epic do, with fans of both Harrington and the hair freaking out. "I only tuned in to the Emmy Awards to see what Joe Keery's hair looked like and I am NOT disappointed," one user wrote. "It's so beautiful I can't stop looking at it," another marveled. "Joe Keery's hair game is stronger than ever tonight," added another. The love affair didn't stop there; see more of Twitter's obsession with Keery's Emmy hair below.

But this epic Emmys hair moment almost didn't happen, though, thanks to Keery's co-star David Harbour, who plays Hawkins, Indiana police chief Jim Hopper on the Emmy-nominated Netflix show. Back in December, Keery promised to allow the Duffer brothers (the creators of Stranger Things) to shave his head if Harbour won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor. Naturally, fans panicked out at the news — but they needn't worry. Harbour did not win (although he was deserving), and even if he had, the actor promised he would never let Keery touch those gorgeous strands.
