All Of The Activewear Brands That Are Supporting Black Lives Matter

Nike

Over the weekend, Nike took to Instagram to call on its followers to “be part of the change.” The powerful video read: “For once, don’t do it. Don’t pretend there’s not a problem in America, don’t turn your back on racism, don’t accept innocent lives being taken from us.”

Fabletics

“The time to make a difference is now—and it starts with each and every one of us,” the brand, which was founded by Kate Hudson, shared on Instagram. “Fabletics is donating $50,000 to support the ACLU in its fight for racial justice and immediate change. #togetherwechange”

Reebok

To show their support for the movement, Reebok penned an open letter to the black community on Instagram.

“We see you. We stand in solidarity with you. This can no longer be the status quo,” the post was captioned. “We’re not asking you to buy our shoes, we’re asking you to walk in someone else’s. To find our common ground of humanity.”

Lululemon

Via Instagram, Lululemon announced they would be donating $100,000 to the Minnesota Freedom Fund while also supporting the NAACP, Black Lives Matter and Reclaim the Block initiatives.

“We haven’t always got it right,” they wrote. “And we are privileged to have a voice and a platform. So… Know we are not indifferent. Far from it. We are passionate about every single human being valued.”

We haven’t always got it right. Over the years it made us question if we had a right to speak up. And we are privileged to have a voice and a platform. So… Know we are not indifferent. Far from it. We are passionate about every single human being valued. For this to happen we need to take action. We are making a $100,000 donation to the Minnesota Freedom Fund. And we know that to be a stand against inequity and injustice of any kind, we all need to do so much more. You have our commitment we will. Update: Due to an overwhelming outpour of financial support for the Minnesota Freedom Fund, we have been asked to channel our resources into other foundations standing for change. We contributed a total of $250K to local Minneapolis organizations Rebuild Lake Street and Friends of Hennepin County Library (East Lake Library), as well as national organizations NAACP, Black Lives Matter and Reclaim the Block.

The UPSIDE

The Jodhi Meares-founded brand reposted a Nelson Mandela quote to its social media channels, alongside a moving picture of people of multiple backgrounds holding hands. “No one is born hating another person because of the colour of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.
#blacklivesmatter ????????”

P.e Nation

“One nation. One world. One earth,” one of P.e Nation’s latest Instagram posts reads. “Our diversity in race, gender, religion and age is our global strength. We must unite and stand together, to make for a greater change. We will not tolerate any kind of discrimination. #WeAreAllInThisTogether
#equalityforall #equality”.

Nimble Activewear

On Instagram, Nimble Activewear founders Vera Yan and Katia Santilli told their followers of the obligation they felt to listen, learn and educate themselves – and each other – on anti-racism.

“We’ve been heartbroken over the news of what’s been happening in the US. We’ve also been extremely moved by the powerful ripple effect felt around the globe. Racism and injustice are important issues and we feel the effects locally in Australia too,” they wrote. “We stand in solidarity with People of Colour & Indigenous Australians and believe in equality for all. We believe in positive change and are learning how to be a part of it.“⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

They continued: “As such, we’ll be sharing resources through our social platforms which have helped educate us during this time. We hope that you can come on this journey of learning with us. This is an ongoing conversation and we welcome your input. Thank you for being a part of our community, friends. Black lives matter.✌?✌?✌?✌?✌? #equality #endracism”
