These 35 Baby Names Were All Banned In 2017
So you want to name your baby Messiah. Or Majesty. Or maybe even Major.
Too bad, says the New Zealand government. For your future child’s sake, those three monikers are banned.
NZ’s department of internal affairs has released its annual list of rejected names for 2017, 7 News reports, adhering to the country’s law that names cannot be official titles, be offensive or unreasonably long. Or, it appears, consist purely of punctuation marks.
Here’s what not to name your baby (at least if you live in New Zealand):
