Gwyneth Paltrow Follows This $603 Skin-Care Routine Every Single Night

For a woman whose lifestyle site regularly recommends over-the-top detox regimens, included a monthly subscription for camel milk in its 2017 holiday gift guide, and single-handedly brought jade yoni eggs into mainstream consciousness, Gwyneth Paltrow's nighttime beauty routine is surprisingly low-key.

In the latest edition of Harper's Bazaar's "Go to Bed With Me" series, a glowing, makeup-less Paltrow takes viewers through her routine, including a pre-shower dry-brushing session and a single swipe of lip balm.

Though we catch up with the wellness guru once she's already out of the shower and clad in a luxuriously fluffy white robe, she generously explains what we missed. Before hopping in the tub, she dry-brushed using the Goop G.Tox Dry Brush ($20), which is of "professional" quality and thus, she says, "definitely does the job of exfoliation and improving circulation, et cetera." Once in the shower, she relies on her "two favorite G.Tox products," the Himalayan Salt Scalp Scrub ($42), which cleanses your scalp without drying it out — "very innovative, if you ask me," Paltrow says with a wry smile — and the 5 Salt Detox Body Scrub ($40).

Next, Paltrow demonstrates how she uses the Goop Exfoliating Instant Facial ($125), which she uses every single night, proudly in defiance of the recommendation that it only be applied three times a week. The Exfoliating Instant Facial, she says, offers the same multitude of exfoliation that an in-spa facial does. First comes chemical exfoliation, causing that tingly feeling; then, while rinsing her face, Paltrow rubs in the remainder of the cream for an element of manual exfoliation; and finally, she soaks a fluffy towel in hot water to create a third exfoliant while wiping off the rest of the product.

After triple-exfoliating, Paltrow rehydrates her skin by patting on the beauty editor-loved Vintner's Daughter Active Botanical Serum ($185) onto her face and neck. "April, the woman who makes it, says it's full of all kinds of fantastic things — it really heals skin," she divulges.

After applying her Dr. Barbara Sturm Eye Cream ($140), Paltrow explains that this part of her routine varies depending on the time of year and where she is in the world. "In the summer, I tend to use less night cream, because we are on the East Coast and it's got a nice humidity in the air. But if I'm in California, or especially in the winter, I use a nice night cream."

And though Paltrow mentions that she also loves to massage a body oil or a body butter like Beautycounter's ($39) into her skin before bed, too, she foregoes that step in favor of "keeping it simple," and capping off her routine with just a quick swipe of Love + Sage lip balm ($12).

While Paltrow's go-to pre-bed products clock in at a whopping $603 for the whole cart, at its core, her nighttime routine, clearly, is a surprisingly accessible one: scrub, exfoliate, hydrate, sleep.
